Overview

The Nizhny Novgorod branch is the largest branch of the State University-Higher School of Economics (SU-HSE).
The academic structure of the branch includes the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Management, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Business Informatics and Applied Mathematics and the Faculty of Retraining. Educational and scientific activity is conducted in 15 departments of the branch by 187 qualified lecturers, including 18 doctors of sciences and 78 candidates of sciences.
At the faculty of economics, a unique project, named Educational bank has been implemented. The bank office with a full set of bank services is run directly inside the main building of the branch. The Educational bank allows students to gain skills in practical bank work.

In the branch, there exists Nizhny Novgorod regional educational center of professional training for the system of government procurement. This is a structural division of the Institute of professional training for system of government procurement, and it is unique in the region. The center graduates become certificated experts in organization of tenders for purchase of goods for the government needs.

The branch of the Higher school of management carries out training business leaders and experts under the IAA program. The training is conducted by the team of professors of the Higher school of management, as well as by the best teachers of business schools from Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod.

In the Foreign language center, everyone has an opportunity to master English, German and French languages.
Now in Nizhny Novgorod branch, over 1300 students study at a full time base, and over 1800 students are involved into second higher education, retraining and professional development programs.

The preparation for entrance examinations to all faculties of the branch is carried out at the Center of pre-higher education where about 2000 prospective students are taught every year.

In the region, Nizhny Novgorod branch of the SU-HSE is known as the university training highly qualified experts in economics, finance, management, marketing and law. Every year 20-30 graduates choose to continue their education at postgraduate level in the SU-HSE. The graduates of Nizhny Novgorod branch have got a profound theoretical background and vocational training; they master foreign languages and are aware of modern information and computer technologies. The graduates successfully work in well-paid positions in the financial, marketing and law departments of various companies, banks, industrial enterprises and governmental bodies.
